Quality equipment is essential for documenting paranormal activity. In addition to the equipment shown below, we have several tripods to use for our cameras as well as equipment cases.

The equipment shown is the essential equipment owned by the founders of OKC Paranormal, however, many of our team members have purchased their own equipment that they use on investigations which is not shown here.

6’ x 12’ Mobile Command Center

This will be used on large investigations at a remote location that will enable us to run a generator to power and monitor all of our equipment. We have left it unmarked for discretion purposes as many of our clients do not wish it to be known that they are having paranormal occurrences.

(4) Infrared Nightshot HD Cameras

These cameras have a range of 100 feet in complete darkness and 150 feet in dim light. These are used to monitor and record activity in four separate rooms. In addition to recording images, they also record audio. They are high definition cameras and record in 420 tvl. They connect to the 4-channel DVR recorder below with 150 foot cables which gives us lots of flexibility on placement even if it is a large location.

4-Channel DVR Recorder

This works with the four infrared cameras and records four separate streams of audio and video for monitoring and evidence review on a 500 GB hard drive.

Sceptre 22” LCD Monitor

We primarily use this connected to the 4-channel DVR recorder for instant visual monitoring and recorded playback.

Apple MacBook Pro w/17” Monitor

This laptop is used in the field for client evidence review, audio evaluation, photo evaluation and video evaluation. It is also used for website design and general computer needs for the group.

Sony DCR-DVD810

This digital camcorder has an 8 GB hard drive and mini-DVD. It records in Super NightShot mode and is equipped with an accessory interface shoe (AIS) to further extend capabilities with extra accessories.

Sony HVL-HIRL IR Nightshot Flash

This infrared light accessory used for the Sony DCR-DVD810 extends the Super Nightshot viewable range from 10 feet to 66 feet in complete darkness.

Hitachi Digital Camcorder

This is a standard digital camcorder with a 16 GB hard drive and mini-DVD. It is used to record client stories, initial walk-through and team member interviews after an investigation.

Kodak Z740

A point and shoot digital camera to use for investigation photography. This camera can take repeated pictures with a rapid 3 second recharge for the flash, which is very beneficial for quick comparison photos.

(2) Cobra 2-Way Radios

These are essential to communicate with other team members in a large location and to validate any movement that may cause noise in an investigation.

Extech Single-Axis EMF Meter

This is an electromagnetic field (EMF) meter that measures magnetic energy in milligauss increments. It is essential for paranormal investigation work.

K-II EMF Meter

Similar to the other EMF meter, rather than an LCD display, this one lights up depending on the range which makes it easy to determine activity in the dark.

Amprobe TH-2A Ambient Thermohygrometer

This digital thermometer measures ambient air temperature within a 1’ circumference around the probe. This is beneficial to detect the actual air temperature when we experience a cold or hot spot. It also measures humidity on an easy to read back-lit LCD display.

Amprobe Surface Thermometer

This measures surface temperatures with an infrared light and shows the reading on a back-lit LCD display. It is used to record floor, ceiling and wall temperatures of each room.

(2) Laser Barrier with Sound Alarm

This establishes a laser barrier that alerts us by a high-pitched alarm if the laser is broken. It can be used to secure a room to make sure no one enters and we are currently testing it to see if shadow entities or mists can break the laser barrier.

Olympus DS-30 Digital Audio Recorder

Records in stereo with incredible clarity. It connects directly to a computer with a USB cable and is easy to download entire audio files.
